THÈMES DE RECHERCHE
Mon laboratoire s’intéresse aux interactions plante-sol et plante-plante dans un environnement en changement. Ces interactions sont examinées dans le contexte biophysique de la forêt tempérée et de différents systèmes agroforestiers tempérés. Nos travaux de recherche sont basés en bonne partie sur des expériences menées sur le terrain. Nous nous intéressons spécifiquement aux effets des changements globaux (p. ex. : changements climatiques, changements d’usage des terres, invasion biologique), de l’identité et la diversité fonctionnelle des espèces ligneuses, des pratiques et systèmes sylvicoles (p. ex. : plantations, application de cendres en forêt, type de récolte forestière) et des systèmes agroforestiers (p. ex. : systèmes agroforestiers intercalaires, haies agroforestières, systèmes sylvopastoraux) sur la biodiversité, les propriétés biochimiques des sols et la croissance aérienne et souterraine des plantes. Notre mission est de développer des connaissances fondamentales et appliquées qui vont permettre de mieux orienter les producteurs, les praticiens et les décideurs concernant le développement de pratiques forestières et agroforestières productives, respectueuses de l’environnement et acceptables socialement.
