Resilience and post-disturbance dynamics of boreal forests affected by interacting drought and insect outbreaks
Université du Québec à Montréal

Directeur: Daniel Kneeshaw
Codirecteur: Christian Messier

I am a forest researcher with a multidisciplinary background in forestry, forest ecology, natural disturbances, and quantitative ecology. My research is devoted to, first, developing new tools to assess forest responses to natural and anthropogenic disturbances of any type (pulse, press, and compound disturbances), and second, providing empirical evidence of the most vulnerable communities that must be prioritized in conservation or restoration plans. To achieve these objectives, I combine statistical modeling, multivariate analyses, and data science techniques on large data sets. The final goal of my research is to provide forest managers and policy-makers with pragmatic information to better anticipate forest responses to future environmental changes.
